SplatMart Licensing Terms

Every listing is sold under one of these licences, chosen by the seller and shown before purchase. Creators keep ownership of their work.

SplatMart Standard Licence

The default licence for paid listings. Buyers can use the splat in unlimited personal and commercial projects, but can't resell or redistribute the asset itself.

Allowed

  • Use in unlimited personal and commercial projects — games, film, VR/AR, archviz, web experiences, client work
  • Modify, edit, crop, recolour, compress or convert the splat to other formats
  • Embed the splat in a published product, provided it cannot be extracted as a standalone asset
  • Use by the purchasing individual, or within the purchasing organisation by people working on its projects

Not allowed

  • Resell, sublicense, share or redistribute the splat (original or modified) as a standalone asset
  • Include the splat in an asset pack, stock library, or competing marketplace
  • Mint the splat as an NFT or claim ownership of the underlying work
  • Use the splat to train generative AI models that produce 3D assets

SplatMart Editorial Licence

For captures of real-world places, products, artwork or branding. Use is limited to editorial contexts — news, documentary, commentary, education — not commercial or promotional work.

Allowed

  • Use in news reporting, documentaries, journalism and commentary
  • Use in educational and academic material
  • Modify and convert formats for the permitted uses above

Not allowed

  • Any commercial, advertising, promotional or entertainment use
  • Use in games, products or merchandise
  • Resell, sublicense or redistribute the splat as a standalone asset
  • Use the splat to train generative AI models that produce 3D assets

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0)

An open licence. Anyone may share, adapt and use the splat — including commercially — as long as they credit the creator. Best for sellers building an audience.

Allowed

  • Share, copy and redistribute the splat in any medium or format
  • Adapt, remix and build upon it for any purpose, including commercially

Not allowed

  • Use without crediting the creator and linking the licence
  • Apply legal or technological measures that restrict others from doing anything the licence permits
